Around turn 10 or 11 Al decides to up the stakes on the left flank by throwing in a Battalion of Motorized Infantry against my Recon forces.
While they are running down the road, he then pushes what remains of his Recon Battalion into the flank of my screening force...Fleeting targets.
I race my troops up the ajoining road to force a contact.
But they are not in time and the reds manage to dismount with the help of some 20mm fire from a Recon Halftrack Platoon.
I then send in the armour to cut off the advance at the truck drop off point. A nice pincer movement.
Meanwhile back at Ponyri Station actual its heavy going as FIBUA both proves costly to the Ivans and to a lesser extent my Germans.
Another air support roll goes my way and the Soviet Naval Infantry get some minor casualties.
While just off to the side a encounter between a Heavy Company and multiple T34's. Time for my Tiger to earn its pay. Sadly it was not impressive as I hoped, in fact the skanky Panzer III's create more havoc than the 88's.
I decided to send in more Infantry to support the Heavy Company.
And also more support for my growing foray into the Station. These support guns will decimate the buildings housing the Red infantry.
Back to the other side of the battle and I send in dismounted motorcycle troops to engage Al's infantry at the road.
Sadly my Recon Platoon 250/9 finally suffers a fatal wound. It actually held around a third of the table by itself and infected multiple casualties on Al's forces.
